Trolldom~A Five Day Workshop. September 18th-22nd, 2023.
Over the course of 5 days, you will be thoroughly introduced to the Scandinavian ways of folk magic and spirituality. This workshop will be taught as practical training for the student with demos, presentation and lecture, but with emphasis on hands-on learning and practical skills. Handouts will be included. Taught by Johannes Gårdbäck traveling from Gothenburg, Sweden, and Missy Rhysing owner of Ritualcravt, Colorado.
ITINERARY:
Day 1. Trolldom, Kultur & Natur – Introduction to the Lands, Culture & Folk Magic of the Scandinavian tradition. An introduction to Scandinavian Nature & Culture, and folklore over the past 5000 years in ways relevant to Spirituality and Trolldom. You will get to learn what dwells under the ground, around us in the forests, meadows and hills in a way few non-Swedes ever get the chance. Burial mounds, ancient stone ships, Sacred wells, Hills/Meadows/Groves of the Vanir and Aesir and far older deities. We will look at folk art and how it carries the trolldom tradition throughout the ages despite religious shifts, building traditions, the hidden layers of festivities such as Jul and Midsummer and much more.
Day 2. Spådom – The ability to see spirits, spells, and the unseen. Diagnosis, fortune telling and divination. After a short introduction to the traditional ways of Spådom – such as Årsgång (The Annual Walk), Stöpa (Steeping), Se I Spegel (Mirror work) – we will dive right into the training and opening of these inherent abilities to perceive these things in the participants.
Day 3. Naturens Språk – The Languages of Nature and how to use them. The keys to our initiatory practices of the Dragons Blood and the White Serpent lore. We will take a look at inner languages and outer languages that will unlock abilities to spirit travel and do all kinds of practical magical work in the spirit realms. We will talk about the languages of Trees, Herbs, Stones, Minerals, Animals of the Tradition and how to explore them, their qualities and spirits for various trolldom purposes.
Day 4. Besvärjelser. – Spells and Trolldom methods to heal, hurt and everything in between. An introduction into the means and methods of the tradition and how we go from there to easily design work for any kind of magical purpose.
Day 5. Väsen – This day is dedicated to the Spirits of the Tradition: Ancestors of blood and land, how to handle the spirits of the dead, befriending the Tomte, Trolls, Elves, Dwarfs, vaettir, various nature spirits and the Deities. Relating & communicating in fruitful ways.
This course takes place at Ritualcravt and is in-person only. We will have a one-hour lunch break each day, and will have a closing dinner for anyone interested the evening of Day 5. Workshop will be recorded and students will have access to the recording for 30 days to review teachings. Gårdbäck, author of “Trolldom- Spells and Methods of the Norse Folk Magic Tradition.” Johannes has 30 years of experience as a professional practitioner and for the last 5 years he has taught hundreds of students and apprentices the ways of Trolldom and Nordic Spirituality.

Missy Johanna Rhysing, an American woman practicing Nordic folk traditions in the U.S. She places great importance on working with our ancestral root cultures to improve our lives and our relationships with the lands we live on today. Missy facilitates community sauna ceremonies and is passionate about sauna tradition and culture.

Shipping
Ritualcravt ships two-three times per week. Please understand we are a two-person shipping operation and do our best to get your goods to you as quickly as possible. Orders generally ship the next shipping day after your order is placed, however, sometimes we receive dozens of orders in one day and we split orders between the next two shipping days. During our bi-annual sales events, shipping times can be 2-3 weeks after orders are placed. Preorders are shipped as soon as we receive the products to us. Returns
Ritualcravt does not generally take returns or exchanges. If your item arrives broken, or you received the wrong item, please email us at shop@ritualcravt.com. However, if you feel that you need to ask for a return or exchange, there is a 4 day grace period after the item is received and we do our best to be understanding. Please note we are firm on this.
